Short stopover in Springbok

Joost and I said our goodbyes to Leo, Dia and Maina as we left Fish River Canyon and made our way to the South African border. The landscapes along the way were beautiful and we ended a long day's drive in Springbok.

We booked a guesthouse as a break from the last 6 nights of camping, which turned out to be modern and comfortable. This was our view from the guesthouse:

We ventured into the town, which was not so lovely! The high levels of unemployment in the country could evidently be seen by the number of people loitering on the sides of the street. We went to the local supermarket and as I was queueing to pay, Joost saw a man being tasered right by the front door! Let's just say we were glad we were there for just one night, and the next day we were excited to make the long drive down to Cape Town.
